About us
|
The Wai Art vision is that we are a non-profit incorporated society providing an exhibition platform for enthusiastic creative Wairarapa artists to promote and showcase innovative, exciting artwork, helping them to become more profitable, more efficient and clearly recognized. All done with great ideas, great vision and great marketing.
We originally formed as a sub-group of the Carterton Art Group in order to run the very successful Fabulous Art Exhibition 2006, held in the council owned building opposite the Council Chambers in Holloway Street. This was followed by the hugely successful Fab Wai Art Awards held in September 2007. We then rebranded in December 2007 to Wai Art and became incorporated.
Wai Art has five trustees: Anna-Marie Kingsley, Kathleen Gordon, John Gordon, Paulette Harris and Jane Sinclair.
Why Wai Art?
- We are a non-profit organisation
- Our aim is to promote artists, not make money from them.
- Our gallery commission is a very low 15%.
- There is no website commission.
- Our artist website fees are extremely competitive
- We have marketers, a website developer and professional artists (all volunteers) on the Wai Art team; enhancing the professionalism without increasing the cost.
All this translates into excellent service for artists and great prices for art investors.
