About me...
Paulette is one of six trustees and the Marketing & Promotions Manager for the Wai Art Trust board, an active member of the ‘Wai Art Group’ and a member of The Academy of Fine Arts. She is married with three grown children and lives and paints amid a rural outlook in Carterton, Wairarapa.
You can visit by appointment at her “Queen of Hearts” working studio and gallery next to her home - a dedicated area to paint, create and make mess in - to her hearts content! She has started painting again since ‘school-day-art’ in the past two years.
In my own words...
My paintings offer the viewer something to enjoy. That’s it, plain and simple! No hidden meaning or deep thought needed - and there probably never will be!
I paint almost everyday in my studio where I can escape from the ‘real’ world and absorb myself in the world of ‘art’.
I love exploring and playing with paint, colour and medium and really enjoy the anticipation of wondering what will happen next if I….
I spend a lot of time thinking about what and how I will paint next and what colours I can use together.
I love the serendipitous approach to my painting and the surprises and challenges it throws at me, often not knowing how a painting will progress or finish, but that’s how I like it!
